The Astrodome was called the Eighth Wonder of the World when it opened in 1965, the first domed stadium in baseball and the place where AstroTurf got its name. It changed the sport forever. S. Preston captures that piece of Houston Astros history in this officially licensed minimalist art print. As seen in ESPN and Sports Illustrated. A must-have for any Astros fan or the perfect gift for the Houston baseball fan who grew up inside the dome.
OFFICIALLY LICENSED ARTWORK OF MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL.
Teams: Houston Astros
Artist: S. Preston
Variant: Rainbow Seats
The Astrodome was considered the 8th Wonder of the world. What I wonder is how the Houston Astros could wear those multi-colored jerseys! Those rainbow colors were a trademark of the Astros highlighted by the upper deck of the dome with the same colored striping to match the jersey. The Houston Oilers also played here.
